Several people have asked about the symbols that we use for preferred shares and special issues from the NYSE.  A list of these symbols is now available here.

Released version 2.3 of TI Pro.  This includes the following changes.

• The OddsMaker now contains more data and allows for longer hold times.
• TDA Robot
• The Robot is now embedded in TI Pro.
• There were several improvements the Robot's performance and stability.

We have a new version of our web based alerts.  This version includes new display features available on the config window.  And this version supports more browsers.

A new version of the TD Ameritrade robot is available.  This release includes important improvements to the GUI, better performance, and more stability.

We have updated our web based software to work with Mozilla, Google Chrome, and other common web browsers.  In the past, if you did not use Microsoft Internet Explorer you would only get limited functionality and speed.  The new version of our web software works much better on these other browsers.

The new web software is currently in beta.  It is available here.  After the beta period is over, it will replace the older web software, which is available here and other places.

We have done a lot of testing with Google Chrome.  That product is also currently in beta, and is not 100% bug free, but it has worked very well for us.  If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, we suggest you upgrade to Chrome.  It is much faster.

The use of window specific filters use is now standardized.  All filters can be used in any the following ways.

• Ignored – Allow symbols regardless of the value for this filter.  Leave both filters blank to see this.
• Min – The value must be at least as high as specified.  Specify a min value and leave the max value blank to see this.
• Max – The value cannot be any higher than specified.  Specify a max value and leave the min value blank to see this.
• In Range – The value must be at least the minimum value and at most the maximum value.  Specify a min and max value, and the max value must be greater than or equal to the min value to see this.
• Out of Range – The value must be at least the minimum value or at most the maximum value.  Specify a min and max value, and the max value must be less than the min value to see this.

Some of the filters in the config window have changed.  If you have saved settings which use these old filters, the software will automatically convert them to the new system.  For example, if you requested stocks with a min gap down of $1.00, the software will automatically switch that to request a max gap up of -$1.00.

Released version 2.2 of TI Pro.  This includes the following changes.

• Added additional status to the status window.  You can now see how much time it takes a message to get from our server to your screen.
• Added a new view mode.  This highlights a stock the first time it appears in the window.
• Added a search panel to the configuration window.  Now you can quickly find the alerts and filters you need.
• Improved the integration with the Stocktickr and Assent robots.
• And several small fixes.

Added new alerts.  These implement a new version of the running up and down patterns based on 1 minute candles.

The configuration page on our web site now has an index to help you find the alerts and filters you need.  The alerts and filters are organized by category.  Click on an icon to go to that section of the config page.  Note that some alerts and filters are in multiple categories, and some are not in any category.

Added new alerts for the green bar reversal (GBR) and red bar reversal (RBR) candlestick patterns.

Added several new filters based on fundamental data.

Added additional filters comparing today's open to the previous day's close.

Added new alerts based on the popular wide range bar (WRB) candlestick pattern.

Added several market direction filters.  These are especially helpful in combination with the OddsMaker and the Robot.

Added Intra-day trading range filters.  This example shows stocks which were trading in a big range an hour ago, but have been calm in the last 30 minutes.

Added several new alerts based on 8 and 20 period SMAs.

Added several new filters based on intra-day moving averages and moving average crosses.

Added minute narrow range buy bar and narrow range sell bar alerts.

The new top list provides another way to find interesting stocks using Trade-Ideas.  This tool is completely free, and updates constantly throughout the day.  Here is a sample that finds stocks which are way up for the day.

Released Trade-Ideas Pro 2.1.4.  This includes improvements specifically aimed at automated trading.

• Minor improvements to the “Alert Window Actions” window.
• Additional features in the OddsMaker.  Hit the “Start” button and you will see these on the “Configure OddsMaker” window.
• You can now exclude specific symbols, or attach an alert window to a single symbol.  Select “Configure...” from the pop-up window, then the “Symbol Lists” tab to see this.
• You can now access the “Flip” feature from the Trade-Ideas Pro “Configure Alerts” window.  The flip feature allows you to switch between a bullish strategy and a bearish strategy in one click.
• New features on the “Options” window, available from the “Tools” menu.
  • Select your time zone.  By default we use the same settings as the rest of your computer, but you can change that.
  • Customize the way that we load and save your layout.
• New view modes are available from the pop-up menu.

As always, there other minor improvements and bug fixes.  If you are ever experiencing problems with Trade-Ideas Pro, we suggest you start by upgrading to the latest version.

• This is the first release of the OddsMaker.  Try it now, while it is still free.
• Save and load multiple layouts.  These are ordinary files that a user can copy from one computer to another.
• TI Pro now automatically checks for upgrades.
• A new "Options" window replaces the "Global Actions" window and the local.ini file.
• A single alert window can now be attached to multiple actions.
• The external linking window and the symbol list window are now easier to use.
• The title bar now shows more information about an alert window.  This makes the history feature easier to use.

• Each alert window can now be attached to a different sound.
• Each alert window can now be linked to a different set of external windows.
• TI Pro now detects and recovers from network problems more quickly.
• This version fixes some obscure problems which caused TI Pro to lock up for a small number of users.

Released version 1.6 of Trade-Ideas Pro.  This makes Trade-Ideas Pro accessible to more people.  If you've had trouble in the past, please try again.

If you could connect, but some or all of the alerts data was missing, just install the new version of the software.  This problem generally applies to people outside of the United States.

If you could not connect, or if the software appeared to lock up, you now have more options.  See our firewall instructions for more details.  This version adds an HTTP tunneling mode for people with very limited network access.  If your computer can see the web, you can use Trade-Ideas Pro.

We have added new options to our external linking window, to allow us to link with more applications.  If you had trouble using our external connector in the past, please upgrade and try again.

Added Pre-market high / low alerts.  This was a request from former Nexttrend users.  Nexttrend is out of business now, but their former users don't have to live without.

You don't have to be a programmer to customize our software!  Many of our samples were created by independent contractors.  If you need something specific that we don't offer, please contact one of these contractors for help.

Added Bright band breakout / breakdown alerts.  These are similar to the % up / down for the day alerts, but these use volatility, rather than %.

Released version 2.7 of the Trade-Ideas ActiveX control.  This includes improvements to the GUI and the API, along with minor performance enhancements.  For detailed information about this upgrade, see our developers page.  If you use Trade-Ideas Pro, or another program that uses the ActiveX control, you can go directly to our upgrade page.

Version 2.7 is completely backward compatible.  If you have a program which uses an older version of this library, you can install the new version of this library.  You can access the improved user interface without making any changes to the main program.

Added decimal filters.

Added the recent alert window settings page.  This stores your recent settings from the configuration window.  This is automatic; you don't have to remember to save.

Added more stock symbols.

Originally our focus was on the higher dollar-volume stocks.  Due to popular request, we now cover most of the US equities markets.  Some of our volume based alerts now have higher standards, and only report on higher volume stocks.

We have started to release our video help.  When you see the video help icon, click on it to see and hear more instructions on a particular topic.

We have started with help for our linking feature and an overview of our website.  More help is in the works.

Normal help is still available.  Just click on an alert icon, word "help", or a ? for context sensitive help.

Trade-Ideas is now integrated with direct access software from InstaQuote, DirectTrading, and Millennium Brokerage.

The integration between Trade-Ideas and Redi Plus and RealTick are now easier to use.  The one-time setup for this feature is now much simpler.

Added Crossed Above Resistance and Crossed Below Support alerts.

Added additional time frames to several alerts.  This includes the channel breaks, consolidations, and volume confirmed running alerts.  These still present the old alerts, but will also look for patterns in the one day to one week time frame.

Updated the code for making sounds with each alert.  This code now uses the latest version of the Microsoft media player.  Sound should now work on all computers.  Pages with sound will now load faster, too.

If you had trouble with sound before, please try again.  If you still have trouble, please let us know.

If you do not already have the most recent version of the Microsoft media player, your computer will automatically ask you if you want to upgrade.  Hit the OK button and your computer will take care of the rest for you.

Added Market Crossed and Market Locked alerts.

Added False Gap Up / Down Retracement alerts.

Symbol lists are now more flexible.  Attach one window to your long positions, one to your short positions, and one to both lists.  Click here for more details.

Added Block Trade alerts.

Continuous additions to the filters available on the Config page.  Go to any alerts window and click "Config" at the top of the screen to see all options available.

New options are available under Advanced Features.  Users may change their passwords or other personal information.  Users may request their passwords by email, in case they forget.
